In Matshell, I want to be able to handle two cases of an input variable inputString.
In one format - it is a string representing a number. For example '128'
In another format - it is a string range representing a min-max number. For example '64-128'
if(strcontains(inputString,'-')
hasRange = 'True'
#extract range
end
How do I extract the string before the '-' as a minNumberString and after the '-' as maxNumberString?
With Perl I would use the ~= operator for regular expression and use (\d+)-(\d+) - have the $1 and $2 variables created for me.
How do I do this in Matshell?

Hi Tali,
The best approach is to use Transformation step.
A Regular Expression step with the statement in your comment will work just fine.
Make sure to choose the Extract Groups to get the groups as a vector.
Cell (0) will always get the full matched string.
Cell (n) will return group n from the Regex.
