Sadanand Hegde suggested an idea (#4972) · Jan 15, 2020 at 10:23 PM · blueprintresourcesapiautomation
Hi,
User should be able to add/modify an alias to a resource in blueprint. Currently the resource alias is the same as the resource name. This would help in identifying each resource per its functionality in automation flow (for example: two resources, one acting as a server and other as a client, both same from same shell/model).
Regards,
Sadanand

The ability to add labels to devices solves this, at least from the GUI point of view. Not sure if adding Alias to Resources solves anything from an orchestration point of view. I would normally do a query to the Sandbox and evaluate all the resources, and maybe look for an attribute flag or family/model information to determine which one I need to orchestrate a particular way.

Hi Sadanand,
Thanks for the suggestion
As stated by Kimo above this could be achieved by using the Labels feature with its legend
If you think that the Labels feature is missing the UI indication you require please elaborate it the comments, and we will revisit it.
Cheers
