Our lab users are struggling with finding information about actively reserved resources, for purposes of mitigating lab resource congestion. A set of features that would be helpful to improve Inventory view usability might be:

I need some more information please on what is the purpose of the requested feature.
Are we talking about admin users wanting to manage the inventory, or regular users wanting to access them?
What is the purpose of finding info on the actively reserved resources? what actions will be done on those resources once found? is it for gathering statistics on what is used, or are the actions that need take place?

I reviewed your questions with our dev team and some of the users that were asking for the functionality, here are some further details.
Q: Are we talking about admin users wanting to manage the inventory, or regular users wanting to access them?
A: Both
Q: What is the purpose of finding info on the actively reserved resources? what actions will be done on those resources once found? is it for gathering statistics on what is used, or are the actions that need take place?
A: People are using the system, we are running out of resources in our lab, and we don’t know how to look into who is using what in currently active reservations, to determine how to best understand and manage the immediate resource compression. Some of the questions being asked by lab users and managers are:
Who is using which resources?
Who is using resources of a specific model?
Who else is using the resources I want?
The actions taken subsequent to answering these questions will likely be manual, things like: following up with owners of active reservations, making sure people are using the reservation system correctly, identifying additional training where necessary to help people use reservations more effectively, identifying new blueprints needed to enable more efficient use of resources, or having an admin abort an active reservation to prioritize a different activity.
*We do know that we can use Insight for analyzing longer term trends of resource utilization, but this use case is more in the immediate moment.

Hi, @Kim Horanyi thanks for the detailed answers. it seems like the above request if I understand it correctly is a mixture of enhanced conflict rerequestn when a user tries to reserve an umixtureble device as well as insights into lab usage for remediate actions for under utilized devices, is this correct?
What would you say is higher for your users? the conflict resolution (and as a side note what information is currently missing from our conflict resolution?) or the Insights?

@Dan Michlin sorry I missed this message somehow, just saw it when trying to review a bunch of our outstanding ideabox items. I don't think either of those ("enhanced conflict rerequestn when a user tries to reserve an umixtureble device as well as insights into lab usage for remediate actions for under utilized devices") accurately represents our request. We are looking to provide our users with a centralized location (Inventory view seems the most logical) to view a summary of resources currently reserved, by whom, and the sandbox name.
