Mohamed Hamdi suggested an idea (#3855) · Jul 22, 2018 at 09:08 AM · testshellstudio
When we publish a variable in a test. We see in the interface page of this test a column named "Possible Values". We can insert values separated by commas.
However, when we use drag this test in another one and open the test properties to insert a value for this variable, possible values are not mentioned and we can insert any value, i.e., not restricted by the possible values we entered.
We need the variable insertion to be a drop-down list with possible values or similar?
We have opened a support ticket for the same. The agent told us that the "Possible Values" capability is relevant only to Job Scheduling (Portal) - when a test with inputs that have possible values is added to a job, the list of possible values is shown in the Job Scheduling UI and it is possible to select only values from the list.
We need the same functionality to be available via TestShell Studio.

Hi @mohamed.hamdi1@vodafone.com, thank you for the idea. This capability was indeed designed for executing tests. Within TestShell Studio, it is possible to use the description for possible values. Currently, this is not something that we have plans to change.

Hi @Maya.B,
Thanks for your prompt response.
It's not available even via TestShell Runner. It's only available via portal.
