Kimo Saper suggested an idea (#3841) · Jul 18, 2018 at 07:27 PM · dockerexecution server
Requesting that the Quali Execution Server be made available as a Container for Deployment Option, ideally Docker. Docker Swarm would allow for scaling of the container.
Really the Execution Server acts as a service to support the overall CloudShell deployment. By moving the Execution Server to a container it both simplifies and opens up the deployment options.

Thanks @ksaper@tsieda.com, this idea is not currently in our immediate roadmap, but very much aligned with our vision

We could really use this for our HPC full stack deployments!

Native Kupernettes support needed as well. (or thru Docker deployed into Kupernettes)

Were coming up on a year with this as a suggestion, any progress?

Hi Kimo! We definitely like the idea (it is an RnD favorite :)), but other ideas have been getting more votes and traction on the community, and I'm afraid this one is not in the short term roadmap. But we keep reviewing the Active ideas backlog, and I look forward to seeing more votes

just a heads up, I tried manually deploying an execution server inside of docker, and there are systemd restrictions on running the Execution Server service. I've seen some workarounds online to this, but it's not as straightforward as just using the latest centos image and running the ES install script.
