Vrushali Vibhandik suggested an idea (#3562) · May 03, 2018 at 02:13 PM · blueprintportal
There are instances when the resources have to undergo some maintenance activity probably sometime in future, though the resource can be reserved and used but we are looking for an option to keep the user notified of the upcoming maintenance activity of the resource. For such resources, as soon as the users creates a blueprint or reserves it (via blueprints), some notification to pop-up displaying the message that the specific device will undergo maintenance on the specific date or duration.

Hi, see my comment on the same forum post you opened.
In short - you can create a future reservation for these resources and no one else will be able to use them during that time.

Hi Yaniv,
The future reservation option is good. But this is not providing solution.
We can do that by keeping the resource in exclusive mode as well.
But, we want the user to use the resource and at the same time get notified about the maintenance activity along with its time-frame.

Alternative is to "Exclude" resources as an admin.
This makes them unavailable to non-admins. The Exclude capability is also available via the Python and XMLRPC API, so it would be scriptable.
