Kimo Saper suggested an idea (#3329) · Feb 05, 2018 at 11:37 PM · cloudshellapisandbox api
I would like an external API call for both the CloudShell XML_RPC API stack (python) and the RESTFul API that would return the current version of CloudShell that we're talking to.
This would allow for differentiation of code internally, preventing non-existent API call from being make (or forking based on deprecated calls)
Helpful for an external tools working with CloudShell.

Hi Kimo, Thanks for the idea, we will consider adding it , however the cloudshell automation api isn't meant to be used with external tools rather for internal automation process, for that you have the Sandbox API (REST) , looking forward to the votes

So two years later? A simple request for both the internal and external API to be able to query what version of CloudShell we're talking to... any updates here?
Hi @Kimo Saper, thank you for bringing this up, I agree it's a valid use case and request, however as it's stated in our idea guidelines, ideas are considered and evaluated against all priorities, so while this idea is active and we are constantly reviewing it along with other ideas not yet implemented.
We are in the process of updating and providing more visibility to our Ideas backlog, will post an update on it soon.
relating to this idea, currently, there are no further updates, if this is a critical issue for you please contact your account manager.
