Olivier Martin suggested an idea (#2213) · Nov 14, 2017 at 03:06 PM · testshelltestideadevelopment
Hello everyone,
My idea is :
When I create a test I'm working with a lot of Equipments and each one have a lot of attributes.
Would it be possible to create a variable with Attributes like when we use "Inspect.Result", but this time with our variables ?
Example :
"myEquipement.name"
"myEquipement.serialNumber"
"myEquipement.iP"
"myEquipement.observations"
If my idea is not clear enough don't hesitate to ask me.
Best regards,

Hi @Olivier, thank you for your idea. Are you using CloudShell or only Testshell? CloudShell is built to handle the equipment. Tests can use CloudShell sandboxes (test environments) that are composed of the different pieces of equipment, and they can get the equipment information from CloudShell - it is exposed in TestShell as a matrix with the details, which is closer to what you are looking for. It is however not possible to independently define such structure in Testshell.
Hi @Maya.B, I'm using TestShell principally. The problem is that this equipment is not physical.
In fact, I'm testing an application made to store a lot of equipments' information. This is why I'm not using CloudShell for this.
A matrix is good but there is no auto-completion for attributes. This is allowing a lot of mistakes.
Thank you for your answer.

Hi @Olivier, thanks for the clarification. CloudShell can be used the same way for virtual devices and applications - their information can be stored in the system and passed to TestShell. I understand your point about auto-complete, though this is not in our plans at the moment.
