Overview
The following procedure will provide you with the steps that you need in order to import users from your cooperate Microsoft Active Directory.
Importing users from into TestShell from active directory enables the admin to manage only 1 set of users which will be managed in Microsoft actve directory and for users it enables to maintain only 1 set of user and password for both cooperate domain authentication and TestShell authentication.
Prerequisites
1. The machine that will be used in order to import the users must be part of your cooperate domain.
2. The user that will be importing the users into TestShell must login to the machine with his NET credentials.
Precedure
In order to import users into TestShell you should follow the below steps:
1. Login to TestShell Resource Manager as admin.
2. Go to admin pane and select the Users section.
3. In the users section click on "Import Users".
4. In the window that you will get you see that the "Active Directory Domain" name was set to be your cooperate domain (the one that you logged into when you logged into the machine).
5. Click on the refresh button in order to get the list of all groups available in the domain that you are part of.
6. From the list that you got under "Group" select the group that the users you would like to import are part of.
7. Click "Run Query".
8. If the group that you chose has users in it you will get the users details in the lower part of the window.
9. choose all users that you would like to import (multi select can be done by holding the CTRL button).
10. Click "OK".
11. Repeat steps 3 to 10 for all additioanl users that you would like to import.
Notes
1. The users that were imported from Active Directory will have a V in the "Imported" column pointing to the fact that the specific user was imported from Active Directory.
2. For users that were imported from Active Directory it's not possible to change their password from TestShell but only from Microsoft Active Directory.
3. Users that were imported and would like to login to TestShell need to select the option "Windows Authentication" when they are trying to login (see screenshot below) :
