If we have an existing Onpath and the user would like to add a new blade to the system, we have two options:
First option (preferred):
1. Exclude Onpath (top level).
2. Perform autoload on the top level.
3. Include Onpath.
Second option:
1. Create blade manually.
2. Create all relevant ports manually.
3. Select the new blade and Sync from device in order to update settings.
Notes: If you exclude the Onpath or any other device, existing reservations will not be effected, however if a user were to try to perform a reservation on an excluded device they will see a warning "route not found".
Q. Why do we have to autoload at the top level?
A. Autoload action is available on top level only
Q. What are the risks to performing this operation?
A. There should be no risks, if end user will perform reservation on excluded ONPATH, he will see "route not found" warning. The existing reservations will no be effected
Q. Why create the blade and ports if you are going to sync? Shouldn't a sync pull this information?
A. No, "Sync from device" doesn't create new resources, it only updates settings on the existing resources.
